Prepare the area – remove curtains, blinds, and any other decorations from window frames

Cleaning windows can be a daunting task, but it’s important to ensure that your windows are completely clear and sparkling. However, it’s not just about the actual cleaning process. One must also prepare the area to achieve that stunning finish. This means removing curtains, blinds, and any other decorations from window frames. Doing so will make the process much more manageable and prevent any mishaps that may cause damage to your window coverings. With a clear area, you can focus on making your windows shine like new again, and your room will feel bright and airy with all the natural light coming through. Don’t underestimate the importance of these small details. Preparing the area before cleaning windows can make all the difference in achieving a professional-level clean.

Gather your supplies – glycerin soap, lint-free cloth/newspaper, microfiber cloths, rubber gloves, squeegee

When it comes to cleaning, having the right supplies can make all the difference. For a streak-free shine on your windows, make sure to gather all the essentials. You’ll need glycerin soap to create a gentle and effective cleaning solution, along with a lint-free cloth or newspaper to wipe away any grime. Rubber gloves are a must to protect your hands, and microfiber cloths will ensure everything is left sparkling clean. And don’t forget about the squeegee – it’s the finishing touch that will make your windows look like they were cleaned by a pro. With these supplies in hand, you’ll be amazed by how easy it is to transform your windows from dull and dingy to bright and beautiful.

Mix a cleaning solution of warm water and glycerin soap  – be sure to wear rubber gloves

Now you’re ready to create a gentle, effective cleaning solution for window cleaning. Fill a bucket with warm water and add a few drops of glycerin soap. Wear gloves when handling the soap to protect your hands from any harsh chemicals or irritants. Mix it all together until bubbles form, and you’ll be left with an ideal cleaning solution for windows. You can also make this solution in smaller batches if needed, as long as the proportions remain the same (1 part glycerin soap to 10 parts water).

Apply the solution to the window with a cloth or your hands

Once you’ve mixed your window cleaning solution, it’s time to get started. Dip a clean cloth or your gloved hands into the bucket and apply the solution to the window. Start from the top of the window and work your way down in overlapping top-to-bottom strokes, being sure to cover all sides of each window frame. The glycerin soap will help lift away grime, dirt, dust, and fingerprints while leaving a streak-free shine behind.

Use a squeegee to remove excess dirt and grime from the glass

Once you’ve applied the cleaning solution to the window, it’s time to use a squeegee for a quick and easy finish. Start at one of the top corners and pull your squeegee in overlapping strokes from top-to-bottom. Make sure to wipe off the blade of your squeegee with a lint-free cloth between each stroke so no dirt or debris is left behind on the glass. Keep going until all excess water has been away, leaving only streak-free windows in its place.

Wipe down the frame with a damp cloth

Your windows may be clean, but don’t forget to wipe down the frame too. This is especially important if you have wooden window frames that can accumulate dirt or dust over time. Use a damp cloth to gently remove any stubborn grime and dirt from the frame, being sure to dry it up afterwards with a microfiber cloth. Doing so will help prevent any water damage and leave your windows looking immaculate.
